Hello! I’m Yang Xu, a Year 1 student in the Renaissance Engineering Programme (REP) at NTU. I used to struggle with math back in secondary school, but now it has become one of my greatest passions, and I have put together Mathematical Supplements to share my journey with you!
Besides mathematics, I also have other hobbies. When I’m not buried in my school modules, you can also find me backpacking and climbing mountains!
Mathematical Supplements began when I was in J1, as a mission to change how my friends saw mathematics.
Five years later, it has evolved into a guidebook that contains all the hidden shortcuts and common pitfalls that I have come across over the years.
What started as handwritten notes in 2021 was later rebuilt from scratch after an unfortunate digital data loss. Turning that setback into an opportunity, the entire book was fully rewritten using LaTeX, giving it the elegant format that it has today.
In its First Edition, the guidebook only contained the Pure Math topics. It was published in October 2024 to help the graduating batch with their exams.
Now in its complete Second Edition, Mathematical Supplements has been updated to cover the entire H2 syllabus, including 3 additional chapters to illustrate the interconnectedness of the syllabus.
Whether you are preparing for your A-Levels or looking to build problem-solving intuition, I hope this guidebook can serve you useful as a Mathematical Supplement.
